Lynn Wiese Sneyd
Since launching LWS Literary Services in 2008, Lynn Wiese Sneyd has been writing, editing, and promoting nonfiction and fiction books. Her query letters and book proposals have resulted in contracts with such publishers as the University of Nebraska Press, Tarcher/Penguin, New World Library, Prometheus, and Morgan James Publishing. Book publicity campaigns include reviews, articles and interviews in national and local print and broadcast media, podcasts, social media, and speaking engagements at venues ranging from local libraries to book festivals, professional organizations, and the Queen Mary.
Along with H. Alan Day, Lynn co-authored The Horse Lover: A Cowboy’s Quest to Save the Wild Horses, which Booklist called an “instant classic,” and Cowboy Up: Life Lessons from Lazy B, a collection of personal essays. She also ghostwrote the memoir The Shadows in My Heart with Mary Havens.
In 2020, Lynn helped create The Cowboy Up Podcast and served as executive producer for four years, booking guests and producing over 200 episodes. Guests have included mystery writers Craig Johnson, C.J. Box and J.A. Jance; historians Tom Clavin and Bob Boze Bell; novelists Bruce Cameron and Michael Punke; and actress Debbie Dunning.
Since 2017, Lynn has been the literary consultant for the Tucson Festival of Books, now the third largest book festival in the country, hosting over 300 authors each year and weekend crowds of 130,000 on the University of Arizona campus. She collaborates with major publishers to bring in bestselling authors from Abraham Verghese and Annette Gordon-Reid to Viet Than Nguyen, Bob Odenkirk, Shelby Van Pelt, Tess Gerritsen, National Book Award winners, and many other literary talents.
Lynn enjoys speaking at writing conferences, workshops, and books festivals, among them the Tucson Festival of Books, National Book Festival, South Dakota Book Festival, Oklahoma Writers Federation Inc, Society of Southwestern Authors, Sisters in Crime, Women Writing the West, Southern Expressions Writing Conference, and Southern California Writers Association.
Prior to starting LWS Literary Services, Lynn was the literary specialist for Russell Public Communications and a community relations manager for Barnes & Noble. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been awarded writing residencies at Ragdale and Write On Door County. A finalist for the Tucson Festival of Books’ Master’s Workshop, she has workshopped her novel-in-progress with Jean Kwok, Laird Hunt, and Hector Tobar.
Besides wordsmithing and reading, Lynn enjoys cooking, hanging out in her art studio, swimming, biking, Zumba and is always on the search for that perfect cappuccino. She and her husband and two cats live in Tucson, except for a few summer months spent in southeastern Wisconsin near the shores of Lake Michigan. Wherever her travels bring her, she makes sure to scout out local bookstores.
