LWS Literary Services helps authors in all steps of the publishing process, from pitching story ideas to agents and publishers via a query letter to promoting the finished product via broadcast and print media, events and presentations, and social media marketing.
We conduct national, regional and local book publicity campaigns. Our authors have appeared on shows affiliated with ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, AM/FM radio, Sirius Satellite, Internet radio, and have been featured in magazines and newspapers around the country. They have spoken at venues ranging from local bookstores and workshops to national conferences and the Queen Mary II. Their books have been reviewed by journalists, editors, freelance writers, and bloggers.
We also develop the “nuts and bolts” needed to promote you, your book, and your message. These include:
- Press releases
- Media kits
- Website copy
- Social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Author’s Page, Goodreads, etc.).
We compose catchy query letters that not only hook readers, but position your book within the marketplace. In addition, we research the agents and publishers most likely to be interested in your specific subject matter.
Our book proposals have sold to traditional publishers the likes of Tarcher/Penguin, Prometheus Books, Hazelden, New World Library, and Basic Health Publications. We write proposals from scratch or edit what you’ve already written. In either instance, we delineate your platform, create a detailed marketing plan, highlight your expertise, research competitive books, and edit or ghostwrite sample chapters.
A good editor rocks, and we love dancing with words. Non-fiction or fiction, books or articles, we handle it all.
We offer detailed critiques of non-fiction and fiction manuscripts. Structure, tone, voice, dialogue – we address every aspect of your work and provide specific suggestions for bringing it to the next level.
If you have an inspiring story to tell or important information to get out there, but aren’t quite sure how to organize or write it, we can lend a helping hand – or two. Books, articles, blogs – we’re good for ghosting any of these.
Fees are project-based.
